We are very honored I be part of Dingers epic quest. Follow @ny2uksolorow for updates of this amazing adventure! #noflopbrim If you were in any doubt where Dinger will be leaving from – this image should clear that doubt up! •A practice row down the Hudson amongst the George Washington Bridge, the Statue of Liberty National Monument, and the iconic Manhattan skyline is like travelling through a movie set! •Talking to Dinger last night he seems to have almost everything now in place, just a couple of small jobs left to go – but all this comes just as the weather window for launch shuts down. •Silver the weather router has been working tirelessly to provide as detailed weather as possible for Dinger to make a well-informed assessment of when to go – but the immediate forecasts for the next few days are not good. •Ocean rowers will experience bad weather at sea, and their boats are designed to cope with it. But they need a few days of good weather to help them get off shore. As a soloist Dinger especially needs a good window of positive weather as at some stage he will need to sleep, so has to have half decent weather to get far enough off shore so that when he does fall asleep he doesn’t get blown back to shore and hit the rocks. •Despite this imperfect news Dinger is keeping positive. Taking the times to go through all of his kit and sharing stories with the other ocean rowers that are also waiting for the weather to turn! •#ny2uksolrow #oceanrowing #atlantic #atlanticocean #expedition #adventure #ocean #oceanrower #newyork #liberty #manhattan #hudson
