Daniel Labelle reviewed Shelta Hats

Bought the hat without too much expectation (as everything I buy on the Internet). The fit is perfect and the fabric and camo is even better than on the picture. Vacation at the ocean is around the corner…will soon find out its true value. 5 stars so far.

Brett Perry reviewed Shelta Hats

So the unfortunate byproduct of getting older has been a increasing need to wear a hat to prevent burning the top of my head.

I have tried for years to find a hat that I could really like….the search is over.

I have only had it a few days and I know that this is gonna be my favorite hat for dog walk, hiking, fishing, canoeing, and shooting!

This is my story….Craig NJanet Cole

I’m a 57 year old mountain biker who in 2012 was diagnosed with Basil Cell Carcinoma on one of my ears. It required surgery and 20+ stiches. I always liked wearing a baseball style hat but after surgery I needed to find something that would cover my ears. Thus started a five year search to find a hat I felt comfortable in and looked good. I visited REI, Cabela’s, Columbia and many other outdoor stores with no luck. The “boonie” style hats I found were too wide, too floppy or couldn’t be sized to fit my correctly. I have a son who is professional wakeboarder (and a Fireman/Paramedic) so we are on the water too. So I resorted to buying ball hats that I could pull down over the top of my ears and even had the thought that I just needed to design my own boonie hat. Then I saw an ad on Facebook for Shelta Hats and I knew right away I found the answer. I liked them so much that I ordered both an Osprey and a Phoenix. They do everything I was hoping for, meaning I can fit them to my head perfectly. They cover my ears but the narrow sides are perfect, they work perfect on the water or in the Oregon rain and finally best of all the stiff baseball bill is just what I wanted. Thanks for designing the perfect year round hat!

Remember that when you are on the water wearing a sun hat is a must, but not enough!

Remember that when you are on the water wearing a sun hat is a must, but not enough! Water can reflect up to 25% of harmful UV rays! Wearing a hat with a dark underbrim helps absorb some of that, but you should use high spf rated sunscreen and good sunglasses as well! #cancersucks #sunhat #sheltahats #sheltayahead#brim_technology #outdoors #funinthesun #fishing #boating#standuppaddle #paddleboarding #sailing #kayakfishing #kayaking#wakeboarding #kiteboarding #riverrafting #sportfishing #cabo

Best Bird Watching / Sun Protection Hat ever!

Best Bird Watching / Sun Protection Hat ever!

My sister and I got this hat for my mom who is a professional naturalist and bird watcher. The challenge for her with hats has always been finding a hat that would offer enough protection and not block viewing ability. This hat is a winner!
These are the things she loves about the Phoenix:
The stiff brim will keep the hat from drooping down over your eyes and allows for easy use with binoculars and spotting scopes.
The adjustably is great so if it is windy you can tighten it up so it won’t blow off your head.
The narrow side brim proves sun protection for your ears and allows for good peripheral vision.
The hat is super light and cool on hot days and can be thrown into a pack with out getting deformed. She also loves the hook so you can attach it to your pack or tripod if you want to take it off without worrying about loosing it.
We gave this to her as an early Mother’s day present and she is stoked!

Long term exposure to harmful UV rays is a major concern of photographers all over the world. Capturing amazing images requires hard work, knowledge and dedication.
